A sensitive tooth, known scientifically as dentine hypersensitivity, is a severe sensation, often painful, felt when the nerves of the teeth are exposed to various environments. This can be something as slight as an irritation to a severe pain. There are many factors that can contribute to sensitive teeth, including decaying teeth and cavities.
